Nima Afshani brings more than 15 years of tax and advisory experience to Continuum, including 14 years at EY, where he was an equity partner in the firm's Private Client practice. He has advised private companies, entrepreneurs, multigenerational families, and private equity clients on complex tax, succession, and estate planning.

Nima also has extensive M&A experience, particularly in sell-side planning and transaction structuring. Working alongside business owners, legal counsel, buyers, and other advisors, he structures transactions that achieve the intended tax outcome while keeping the commercial objectives of the deal in view. His guiding principle is that the right solution must work both technically and in practice.

A chemical engineer by training, Nima brings an analytical, evidence-based approach to advisory work. He is drawn to complex problems, challenges conventional assumptions, and expects decisions to be supported by rigorous analysis. Clients value his candour and his persistence in seeing difficult issues through to resolution.

Nima joined Continuum's Board of Advisors after seeing firsthand how the firm approaches life insurance. Through his work with Continuum, he came to appreciate insurance as a valuable planning tool when it is grounded in disciplined analysis and thoughtfully integrated with a client's broader tax, estate, and succession objectives. Continuum's commitment to doing things differently, and doing them rigorously, is what drew him to the firm.

Nima holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and a Master of Management & Professional Accounting from the University of Toronto. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant.
